Many players tried to come up with different and exotic technologies to mainly improve the user experience and help developers build faster and more powerful web applications. A myriad of technologies and programming languages are now used to build web applications, but because of the way the World Wide Web evolved and because of the speed at which it did so these technologies didn't really have time to evolve and cope with the pace.
